Make an Impact
You are an experienced individual contributor focused on designing, implementing and managing cloud-based infrastructure and platforms with a deep understanding of the appropriate cloud technologies used at Serko. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to support optimising cloud services, establishing best practices and ensuring high performance, keeping security and cost-efficiency front of mind. You are comfortable scoping initiatives and delivering on tasks independently, guiding and mentoring team members on how to solve problems within their area.
What you'll get to do
- Designing, deploying, monitoring, managing, maintaining and troubleshooting Serko’s cloud infrastructure.
- Ensuring our cloud infrastructure is designed to be cost-efficient and that it scales effectively to handle our products' web traffic and workloads appropriately.
- Contributing to the design and implementation of an overarching automation strategy that minimizes manual processes.
- Working with Principal Engineers to advocate good practices in tooling, deployment and infrastructure automation, provisioning, logging, monitoring, alerting and observability.
- Working closely with engineering and support teams to understand their requirements and provide the necessary infrastructure and support for their applications, including deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to build, deploy, monitor and support the components that they own.
- Maintaining clear and up-to-date documentation of our cloud infrastructure, configurations, and processes.
- Actively contributing to the professional growth of other engineers at Serko, sharing knowledge and best practices with team members to improve overall team capabilities.
- Contributing to the design and implementation of an engineering-wide DR strategy.
- Responding to and remediating incidents for components that your team supports
- Keeping up to date with the latest developments in cloud technologies and best practices relevant to Serko technologies.
What you'll bring
- Open to receiving and giving feedback, creating a safe and inclusive work environment.
- Great verbal and written communication.
- Good understanding of application development to support development teams.
- Willingness to work with our legacy infrastructure to support it and modernise it when appropriate.
- Experience in creating modern cloud-based solutions using industry best practices.
- Experience in cloud architecture design and understanding the challenges and trade-offs to be made when building and deploying systems to production.
- Experience with the languages your team uses (typically PowerShell, C#, TypeScript or Python).
- Experience with an IaC tool
- Experience working with our technology stack: Must have - Azure Cloud, Docker, Kubernetes; Ideally - Pulumi, Sumo Logic, New Relic.
